Indio council certifies Nov. 5 election results and swears in officials

City Clerk Cynthia Hernandez reported the county certified the election Dec. 3 and summarized the outcomes: Glenn Miller was listed as re‑elected (reported by staff with 6,959 votes), a council seat for district 5 was reported with 3,879 votes (59.90 percent), Cynthia Hernandez was reported re‑elected as city clerk (17,279 votes, 66.28 percent), and Rob Rockwell was reported elected city treasurer (23,138 votes, reported as 100 percent in the staff summary). Hernandez recommended the council adopt Resolution No. 10471 to officially certify the results.
Councilmember Furman moved to adopt the resolution and Councilmember Ortiz seconded. The council voted 5–0 to certify the election results. Following the certification, the city clerk administered oaths of office. Glenn Miller recited the oath and was sworn in as mayor; the councilmember‑elect and Rob Rockwell were sworn in, and Mayor Miller administered the oath to Cynthia Hernandez as city clerk.
