Florence Unified board considers FY2025 spending revision; board hears motion for 2.5% classified raises

The Florence Unified School District Governing Board on Dec. 10, 2024, received motions to approve a revised fiscal year 2025 annual expenditure budget and a classified pay increase package that would raise pay for eligible classified employees by 2.5% effective Dec. 26, 2024.

Board members moved and seconded both measures during new business. The board first introduced a motion to approve the revised FY2025 annual expenditure budget (agenda item 10.1). The board then considered agenda item 10.2, a classified raise package described in the meeting as a 2.5% increase “above the current compensation rate of pay” for all classified employees except classified-exempt employees listed on the administrative salary schedule.
