Coffee County Board honors Adam Lott after 12 years of service

The Coffee County Board of Education on Dec. 19 formally recognized board member Adam Lott, who is stepping off the board after 12 years of service.
Board members and district staff praised Lott’s role in long-term facilities projects and program development. In remarks to the board, Lott reflected on the tenure and the staff he worked with: “I’m proud of the facilities that we built…Wiregrass, you know, the career academy…that program is, I would almost say, transformatory,” he said. Lott added he will remain available to the district after leaving the board: “I’m not going to work. I’m still gonna have the same address, same phone number.”
A district legal adviser who addressed the meeting described Lott’s service as “exemplary” and thanked him for his dedication. Board members highlighted steady gains in graduation rates and cited the Wiregrass Regional College and Career Academy as a major achievement during Lott’s tenure.
The recognition was presented during the meeting’s awards and recognitions portion. No formal board action was required to present the tribute.
