At its Jan. 21 meeting the Lindon City Council approved a range of routine items including a county grant amendment for community training, authorization for Alpine School District to sell a CTE-built home, reappointment of two planning commissioners and approval of council minutes.
During regular business on Jan. 21 the Lindon City Council approved several administrative and procedural items.
The council unanimously approved an amendment to a Communities That Care (CTC) agreement with additional county funding of $5,000 to expand classes and support costs through June 30, 2025. Jamie, the city’s senior coordinator for the CTC program, was praised by councilors for expanding programming with grant funds; the motion to approve the amendment was made by Council member Cole Hooley and seconded by Council member Steve Stewart.
The council then approved Resolution 2025-3-R, authorizing the Alpine School District to dispose of a property constructed or remodeled by the district’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. City staff explained the recent state legislation requires cities to approve school-district disposals that affect reorganized district boundaries. The motion to approve the resolution was made by Council member Lincoln Jacobs and seconded by Council member Steve Stewart.
Councilors also approved the reappointments of Jared Showers and Scott Thompson to three-year terms on the planning commission; the motion was made by Council member Lincoln Jacobs and seconded by Council member Van Broderick.
Lastly, the council approved the minutes from the Jan. 6, 2025 meeting. All of these items were approved by voice vote.
