Council members pointed to the City Center Park lighting display, which the message described as "bigger and brighter than ever with over half a million lights," and encouraged residents to shop local, noting the city's more than 5,000 businesses. The message invited the public to the seventh annual community Christmas caroling event on Dec. 23 at 6 p.m. in the Orem City Cemetery.
The council closed the message with seasonal well-wishes to residents.
