The board adopted a resolution appointing Dominic Tyburski as Madera County’s director of public works and county road commissioner, effective Dec. 16, 2024. Human Resources noted Tyburski brings more than 13 years of public-works experience, a bachelor’s in civil engineering from California State University, Fresno, a master’s in public administration and a professional civil-engineer license. Tyburski spoke briefly to thank the board and said he looks forward to starting and "hitting the ground running." Board members welcomed the appointment and noted his local connections; staff thanked the outgoing contract road commissioner for service and said some transition work may continue on an SR 41 construction project.
The motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote.
