St. Charles Parish Council postpones road-improvement ordinance and approves engineering services amendment

Councilman Fisher moved to postpone the file; Councilwoman O'Daniels seconded. The chair called for a vote and the motion passed unanimously.
In a separate item, the council voted unanimously to approve file 2025-0001, described by parish staff as Amendment No. 3 to Ordinance No. 22-272, which adds the 2025 roads to the parish’s engineering program and funds construction administration and resident inspection services. Parish staff member Mr. Bingham told the council the requested amount for the amendment is $90,086. The public hearing for that file was opened and closed with no public speakers, and the vote passed unanimously.
The council also approved the minutes from the Jan. 6, 2025 regular meeting by a unanimous vote on a motion by Councilwoman Wilson and a second by Councilwoman Skiva.
Why it matters: the amendment approved in file 2025-0001 authorizes additional engineering construction-administration work to support parish road projects in 2025; the postponed file 2024-0441 will not proceed unless the administration brings it back to the council.
