Planning commission approves accessory building site plan for Earthenbreck Fruit Ranch with technical contingencies

The Genola Planning Commission voted to approve a site plan for an accessory building at Earthenbreck Fruit Ranch, 2336 North Lake Road, with specific technical contingencies.

The commission approved the application during its Feb. 6 meeting after members identified missing elements on the submitted plan and agreed the applicant must correct them before final sign-off.

Commission members noted the plan lacked a clearly marked north arrow and scale and requested measurements showing distances from the proposed building to existing structures and property lines. A motion to approve the site plan “with the contingencies of needs to add a north arrow and scale and needs to add the measurements to the existing building” was made and seconded, and the commission voted in favor.

Staff said the plan otherwise showed power and secondary water at the parcel and that required setbacks appeared satisfied; one reference on the plan indicated a 60.40-foot setback. Commissioners asked the applicant to clarify and add dimension lines and to provide an aerial view or clearer depiction of existing buildings on the property.

The approval is conditional on the applicant returning with revised drawings that include the requested north arrow, scale and dimensional measurements; no final building permit or inspections will be completed until those items are provided.
