The New Bedford City Council on Thursday voted to adopt an order allowing Eversource (NSTAR Electric Company) to install one manhole and about 38 feet of conduit on North Water Street to provide electric service to 89 North Water Street.
The public hearing opened after the clerk read the item. An Eversource representative told the council the manhole would be installed in front of 89 North Water, under the cobblestone, and that the Bluestone sidewalk would be returned to “existing or better condition.” The representative said the manhole would be placed in the flat area of the sidewalk and not in a driveway apron and that the work should take a couple of days.
Councilors moved to close the public hearing and adopt the order. The motion passed on a voice vote; the chair announced “the ayes have it.”
