Planning board postpones Gould Residence item after public comment; residents raise concerns about privacy wall

An agenda item concerning the Gould Residence was pulled from the Jan. 16 Planning and Zoning Board docket and the board voted to postpone consideration to a date not certain after public comment. Jeffrey Small, who identified himself as a resident near the Royal Palm Polo property, urged the board to deny or delay approval of a proposed privacy wall, saying the structure would create a canyon effect along Jog Road and could prompt other property owners to build similar walls.
Small told the board that several adjacent communities would be affected if a large privacy wall were allowed and suggested alternatives, such as an enclosed glass pool structure, that could address privacy and noise without creating a street‑level barrier. The board voted 5–0 to postpone the item indefinitely to allow further review; the motion and vote were recorded during the meeting.
