Council upholds design review board approval for deck at 16 Place Millon after appeal

The Tiburon Town Council on Jan. 15 denied an appeal of a Design Review Board (DRB) approval for a new elevated deck and connecting stairwell at 16 Place Millon, upholding the board's conditional approval.
Planning staff described the application as a proposed approximately 1,400-square-foot deck plus an approximately 200-square-foot exterior stairwell on a steeply sloped lot off Sugarloaf Drive. Staff said the Design Review Board reviewed the project in October and November 2024 and adopted a resolution conditionally approving the proposal, adding a requirement the stairwell include a six-foot tall privacy screen before building permits would issue.
