Board approves purchase of 19 interactive displays; most paid with grant funds

The Venus ISD Board on Jan. 13 approved the purchase of 19 interactive displays for district classrooms.
Technology director Hudson explained 18 of the displays will be purchased for the middle school using grant funds; one display will be purchased for the high school from local funds. The technology department is absorbing portions of campus technology budgets this year to complete the purchase as a single order and save on shipping costs.
Hudson said the district addressed a specific shortfall: the high school needed one additional interactive display to provide parity for state-tested-subject classrooms after teacher moves. He also said the district will pursue additional purchases as resources and grants permit.
The motion to approve the 19 interactive displays was made by Amber, seconded by Donald, and carried on a voice vote.
