Residents press commission on sidewalk and safety improvements for 55100 South; staff says UDOT approved four-way stop

A planning staff member told the commission the city recently met with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and that UDOT has approved a four-way stop at the intersection in question. The staff member said UDOT is also reviewing speed limits on that stretch and that sidewalks and other frontage improvements would be addressed either through developer-required frontage improvements (for new subdivisions) or through larger UDOT projects. The staff member noted the city is pursuing options including grant funding and school-safety programs and that sidewalks and road widening are expensive projects that may be implemented in phases.
Commissioners and staff encouraged residents to consult the city website for agendas, recordings and minutes; staff said meeting materials and recordings are posted online and that residents can search by date range to find past meetings.
