Greeley Evans School District 6 officials updated the Board of Education on work to strengthen family partnerships under the Innovation 2030 strategic plan, announcing a recommended districtwide communications platform and reporting progress on family engagement goals and training.
Assistant Superintendent Anthony Osmus said a task force recommended Bloomz as the districtwide family–school communications platform; the district plans to implement the app fully in fall 2025. The task force evaluated candidate platforms on translation capability, messaging functions, training supports and data security.
David Reyes, assistant director of the Family Center, described an action team of administrators, parent advocates and community members and reviewed “voice visits” (home or community visits intended to build relationships), Spanish for Family Partnership courses for staff (a six-week class using Duolingo for practice) and a family engagement series covering topics such as attendance, Infinite Campus and concurrent enrollment.
Maria Macias, the district Title I specialist, said the district’s listening sessions and affinity groups are focused on hopes for students, what welcoming schools look like and how schools can better meet family needs. Macias said the district has seen an increase in McKinney‑Vento identifications after strengthening outreach and parent-advocate work.
Brian Lamos, director of multilingual learners and family engagement, shared outcome metrics: the district reported roughly 75% parent satisfaction in earlier years and aims to reach 85% satisfaction by 2025; more than 3,000 parents had responded to the current Panorama parent survey as of the presentation, and the survey window remains open through Feb. 21. Lamos said 93% of schools already include a family engagement goal or strategy in their Unified Improvement Plan (UIP), exceeding the stated 2025 target of 90%.
The board asked about rollout and survey outreach. District leaders said they will continue pushes to increase responses, that surveys are provided in English and Spanish, and that parent‑family advocates and school staff will help encourage participation. The district is working to train staff in family partnership strategies, with a target of 90% of sites trained by 2027; Lamos said about 55% of sites are trained so far.
Board members and staff praised the work and emphasized the intentional, relationship‑building focus of voice visits and listening sessions. Osmus and Reyes said the next steps include onboarding additional schools to fully implement family partnership plans, expanding training and co‑creating site-level plans with principals and parent advocates.
