The sheriff’s office described this as a rarely used authority intended mainly for emergency parts or equipment replacement needs (for example, boat engine repairs prior to busy summer weekends); otherwise the office will coordinate with the commission for non‑emergency purchases.
Both delegations carried by unanimous vote.
