At the start of the Jenks City Council meeting, resident Jane Aston told the council she has had frequent power outages at her home on Melody Lane and that neighbors have called the utility “more in the past three months than we have in 10 years.”
Aston told the council she had contacted PSO but said she did not know the city’s role in oversight. “We have lost power in our area… We have probably lost power more in the past 3 months than we have in 10 years,” Aston said.
City Manager Chris Shrout said the city regularly communicates with PSO and does not control the utility, but that he would ask PSO to send a representative to the next council meeting to answer residents’ questions directly. “I will reach out to PSO and ask that if they could have a representative at the next meeting to try to explain some of this,” Shrout said. Council members agreed that hearing directly from PSO would be helpful to the public.
The council did not take formal action on the matter at the meeting; staff asked Aston to leave contact details so staff could follow up directly.
