The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors unanimously elected Supervisor Phil Serna to serve as board chair for 2025 and Supervisor Rosario Rodriguez as vice chair during its Jan. 7 meeting.
Serna, who was serving as chair at the start of the meeting, nominated himself for the 2025 chairmanship and nominated Rosario Rodriguez for vice chair; the motion was seconded and approved by unanimous vote. The board then recessed for a short break.
The chair and vice chair positions rotate among supervisors and carry responsibilities for presiding over board meetings and representing the board at certain events and intergovernmental forums. The board did not record any additional qualifications or stated conditions for the appointments during the meeting.
