Lake County commissioners approve series of PSAs, grants and property purchase; county to accept energy grant and underfunded courthouse funds

Lake County’s Board of Commissioners approved a package of professional services agreements, grant acceptances, an annual roadway funding report and a property purchase at its Jan. 7 regular meeting.

Key approved items and amounts

- Professional services agreement (PSA) with Jeff Stoll, Public Health and Environmental Consulting LLC: $11,500 in state grant funds to support the county’s community health assessment through September 2025. Outcome: approved by voice vote.

- PSA with Economic Planning Systems Inc. (EPS) to prepare an impact-fee nexus study: $71,590. Outcome: approved by voice vote.

- Acceptance of an Underfunded Courthouse Facilities Grant award: $500,000 award accepted to support planning work for Lake County courthouse renovations in 2025. Outcome: accepted by voice vote.

- Purchase and sale agreement with the Lake County School District to acquire two parcels and an easement for workforce/affordable housing and related uses: general fund spend down of $950,000 for the two parcels; closing and survey timelines described (210-day closing period noted).
