Superintendent briefs board on mid‑year benchmarks and building projects; staff to provide follow‑up data

The Louisville Municipal School District superintendent reported that mid‑year benchmark data are now available and that staff are preparing detailed breakdowns for trustees over the next four meetings to show where work is needed.

The superintendent also updated the board on several building and facilities projects. A replacement fence at Mount Arroyo playground has been installed and the fence along Ivy Avenue at Louisville High School is complete from the south end to the north end; trustees were told the north and east sides remain pending grant approval. Roof work at Island Middle School began and staff expect partial completion of one hall in two to four weeks with an anticipated six‑week timeline for the full building. Trustees were told some classroom reshuffling will be required while roofing work continues.

The superintendent asked trustees to review forthcoming benchmark data to guide work through the remainder of the school year. The report closed with a brief announcement that after‑school 21st Century programs have started at all campuses except the high school and that adult‑education and re‑entry workforce training associated with career‑tech programming continue under district partnerships.
