The Board of Directors of the School District of the City of Erie approved several routine and supplemental items during its Jan. 15, 2025 regular meeting.
Among the items the board approved by roll call:
- A memorandum of agreement (MOA) between the School District of the City of Erie and the Erie Education Association to attract and retain professional employees at East Middle School. The motion was moved by Mr. Sharif and seconded by Mr. Nichols; roll-call votes recorded the item as approved (all voting members present voted yes as recorded).
- Adoption of board rules (second reading), a requirement under state statute for periodic board rules review. The motion to adopt the Board Rules as amended passed on a roll-call vote with board members recorded as voting yes where noted in the minutes.
- Approval of the district’s January bills and authorized payrolls. The motion to pay bills passed; Miss Devlin recorded an abstention from the bills vote due to a family member’s employment with a district vendor; payrolls were approved on a separate roll-call vote.
Other routine actions included approval of the meeting minutes, acceptance of the superintendent’s report and approval of the consent agenda. Several items on the consent agenda were described at the meeting as noncontroversial and having been vetted in committee beforehand.
Votes and motions were taken by roll call; where recorded in the transcript, board members’ individual votes are listed in the district minutes. No additional contested ordinances or bond/vote items were on the agenda.
