“Mr. Gabriel has a long, distinguished history with the city of Westland,” a representative of city administration said during the presentation, listing Gabriel’s prior municipal roles and thanking him for his willingness to serve. There was no further discussion. The motion passed without dissent and Gabriel was asked to stand and be recognized.
The appointment fills an existing vacancy on the Retirement Board; no additional implementation steps were specified.
