Jonesborough board approves reorganization chart to expand town management layer

The board described the structure as conservative and intended to be implemented over time; officials said some additional hires may be required as funding permits.
The board debated management continuity, succession planning and staff workload. Vest said the change prepares the town to sustain service delivery as it grows and to avoid single‑point dependencies for critical functions.
A motion to approve the organizational chart carried by voice vote; the meeting record shows the motion was moved and approved with no recorded dissents. The board directed staff to implement the reorganization through routine personnel and budget processes.
