During a property‑committee update, administrators said the district had received the pending approvals needed to proceed and expected to break ground next month. Project managers reported progress on other capital items — including the high school LGI and roof work — and provided a project schedule and budget update at the committee meeting.
At the regular meeting the board approved a series of land‑development documents required to proceed, including a declaration of covenants, easements and restrictions concerning stormwater facilities; a memorandum of land development and financial security agreement; and an escrow agreement with the Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust.
The board then approved the recommended construction contractors as the lowest responsible bidders meeting contract requirements. The awards and totals announced in the meeting were: - Bracey Construction — general construction: $17,557,450 (base bid + selected alternates) - JBM Mechanical, Inc. — mechanical: $6,370,000 - ElectricTech, Inc. — electrical: $4,376,000 - JR Reynolds, Inc. — plumbing: $1,767,000
District speakers noted the project budget had been prepared in advance and that the board had previously authorized borrowings to fund capital projects. Administration reported that four borrowings totaling $40,000,000 had been used across projects and that project staff had worked to stay within budget and to accommodate selected alternates. Property committee members said final technology configuration for the new large‑group instructional (LGI) classroom remained to be completed, but the LGI had already been used for Keystone exam administration and was suitable for student use.
Board members asked timing and readiness questions. Superintendent Dr. Anacone thanked the construction manager and noted the district expects to break ground next month. The board approved the land‑development agreements and the contract awards by voice vote; no board member spoke in opposition.
Administrators said contract execution remains subject to the usual requirements for signed contracts, insurance and bonding as required by the contract documents.
