The Citizens Bond Oversight Committee told the board that the 2016 voter-approved bond is nearing completion and that oversight work for the 2024 bond is beginning.
Committee co-chair David Brockway said as of December the 2016 bond was 97.5% expended, with about $6.8 million remaining; roughly $4.0 million of that balance is contingency, and about $2.2 million remains allocated for technology infrastructure and a small number of facility audit items. Work tied to the last projects—Rampart High School and Liberty High School pool work including timing systems and starting blocks—remains underway and the committee expects the 2016 bond projects to be completed consistent with the voter-approved language prior to June 30, 2025.
Brockway and committee staff said members from the 2016 oversight group will be invited to participate in oversight of the 2024 $83 million bond passed in the last election. Board members and administrators noted progress on new facilities including a bus barn and mechanics' workspace; district staff said those areas will be occupied in the coming weeks as finishing work continues.
