The James Island Planning Commission approved its Nov. 14, 2024 minutes and elected its officers for 2025 during the Feb. 13 meeting.
Frances Simmons, secretary to the planning commission and town clerk, called the roll in votes on the minutes and on later motions. Commissioners approved the Nov. 14 minutes by roll call and then proceeded to administrative business.
For officer elections, Commissioner Kelly Hall nominated Deborah Bidwell for chair. Bidwell said she appreciated the nomination but said she hoped the commission would rotate leadership; she later accepted service if the commission wished. The commission voted by voice to elect Deborah Bidwell as chair for a one-year term. During the voice vote an abstention was recorded; the motion passed.
Commissioner Kelly Hall was nominated and elected vice chair by voice vote; no abstentions were recorded for that motion.
The commission scheduled its next regular meeting for March 13, 2025, and closed the Feb. 13 meeting with no further business.
No substantive public comments were made; there were no public-comment speakers in the room or on Zoom for the meeting.
