The director listed partner programs available to tenants: Capoeira; Strong Nation fitness classes; activities for seniors; English and GED classes; citizenship classes; Zumba; youth basketball and youth physical activity classes; fentanyl awareness presentations; reading clubs; and blood pressure clinics for seniors.
Senior Valentine event and transportation: Commissioners discussed a seniors Valentine’s Day event scheduled for Feb. 7, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with free admission and music, food and entertainment. The director said flyers were distributed and at least one provider is offering rides for seniors to the event.
Sister‑city outreach: A board member raised that Nogales, Sonora had asked for support to host migrants and is seeking use of facilities such as gymnasiums and fields. The board member said logistics — including visas and dates — remain under discussion and that he will raise the matter at the city council level to determine whether the city can accommodate a request from the sister city.
