Superintendent highlights student fundraising, literacy and health events; board offers condolences for Anna Payne

Bowman also highlighted World Read Aloud Day activities, where eighth-grade students from Carl Sandburg visited fifth-grade classes to read and discuss the importance of reading for academic and critical-thinking development. He reported that Schweitzer Elementary observed National Go Red Day to raise awareness and funds for the American Heart Association and to teach students about cardiovascular health risks.
The superintendent invited the community to attend the Neshaminy High School musical, Young Frankenstein, opening Thursday through Sunday, and offered condolences to the family and friends of Middletown Township supervisor Anna Payne, who had publicly shared her medical journey and led community efforts supporting people with rare diseases.
Board members also spoke about Payne's community service. A board member announced a memorial service scheduled for Thursday the thirteenth at Celebrations in Bensalem from 6 to 9 p.m.
