The board received two petitions to annex property identified in meeting materials and directed the town clerk to investigate.
The clerk told the board she had received petitions for partial parcels (listed in the packet as 0401227d and 04012027) and that an investigation by the clerk was required. A motion to direct the clerk to investigate the two tracts passed by voice vote (3–0). The clerk said results of the investigation will be returned in January and that any public hearing would follow in February.
A commissioner moved and the board approved the motion to start the formal annexation investigation process; no formal annexation decision was made at this meeting. The clerk will report findings and schedule subsequent public hearing notices as required by North Carolina annexation procedures.
