HARB approves storefront alterations at 152 St. George Street; awning color to be administratively approved

The Historic Architectural Review Board voted Feb. 20 to approve storefront alterations at 152 St. George Street (HP2025-0007152), authorizing a reconfigured storefront entry, a new cornice trim and an awning and paint changes subject to administrative review of colors.
Staff presented the project and said the building has had mid-century alterations and that historic photos show an awning once existed. Board members praised the proposed restoration-style storefront configuration but asked the applicant to coordinate awning fabric and paint chips with city staff so colors align with the HARB preapproved palette.
The applicant, represented by Lynn Weeks and designer Nicole Stearley, said samples were delayed in transit and that the tenant seeks colors that match its brand. Weeks said she would work with staff and bring actual awning samples for administrative approval; the board voted to approve the concept while leaving final awning and paint approval to staff.
Vote: unanimous approval to approve as submitted with administrative review of awning and paint.
