After leaving executive session on Feb. 18, the Rockwall City Council voted unanimously to authorize the city manager and city attorney to take action pursuant to matters discussed in executive session concerning unpaid taxes.
The agenda had listed three executive-session topics, including discussion of a nomination for a vacant seat on the Rockwall Central Appraisal District board, appointments and reappointments to boards and commissions, and “discussion regarding possible legal actions for unpaid taxes against Rockwall RMKP.” When council reconvened, Mayor Pro Tem moved to authorize the city manager and city attorney to act pursuant to the executive-session discussion. Councilmember Myers seconded the motion, which passed unanimously with all council members present.
Because the matter was discussed in executive session, council provided no additional details on the scope or timing of any legal steps in the public record beyond the motion to authorize staff and counsel to proceed.
