Dan Hennessey, Director of Transportation and Public Works, told the City Council the department recalculated its needs after council feedback in August and found that removing large roadway widening projects reduces the city's total CIP need by more than three quarters, allowing more funding for maintenance, sidewalks, crossings and active‑transportation projects.
