Council discusses abandoning old road to clear title for 126 East Maple sale

Staff noted a practical precedent: past property disputes involving long-term maintenance and use have been resolved through legal or court processes when ownership and maintenance over decades were factors. Staff said the village’s attorney would help draft a resolution for the council to consider as soon as counsel is available. The owner, described in the meeting as having a ready buyer, asked the council for assistance in expediting the matter.
No formal action was taken at the meeting; staff said they would pursue attorney review and aim to present a draft resolution to council for approval at a future meeting.
