The Goldsboro City Council adopted a two-day retreat agenda and began an electronic polling exercise to rank its policy priorities, council members said during opening sessions.

Councilmembers and staff clarified several organizational edits before polling: elimination of blight was combined with community appearance into a single item, and wastewater treatment plant expansion and water/sewer infrastructure were presented as related infrastructure priorities. Several members also discussed consolidating Capital Improvement Plan items so members could prioritize technical and funding-related work together.
Where the retreat moves next: staff and the facilitator said the poll results would be revealed to the full group after the break and used to guide the remainder of the retreat.
