After an executive session on Jan. 28, BK City Council returned to open session and unanimously approved multiple appointments to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Council moved to appoint Lori Wakefield as chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission and Kirk Wright as vice chair. The motions carried with all council members voting in favor.
Council also filled open positions on the commission. Tyler Risca was appointed to the member-at-large position tied to the mayor's term; Paul Vickery was appointed to Place 1; and John Wickens was appointed to the alternate position. Each appointment passed by unanimous voice vote.
Why it matters: the Planning and Zoning Commission reviews development applications, PDD conditions and recommendations affecting the city's land-use decisions. Several appointments were made at once, creating a near-term change in the commission's leadership and membership.
Record of action: the clerk read motions to appoint each individual; each motion received a second and was approved by voice vote. The council adjourned the meeting at 9:49 p.m.
Provenance: The appointments and unanimous votes are recorded after the council returned to open session at 9:47 p.m. and include the recorded motions to appoint Wakefield, Wright, Risca, Vickery and Wickens.
