Athletics director gives detailed midyear report on fall and winter sports

The Enid Public Schools Board heard a midyear athletics report covering fall and winter seasons, postseason honors and upcoming events.
Mister Mansfield presented participation counts and postseason results across sports. Highlights included: the varsity softball team finished as regional runner-up; individual postseason awards for players in softball and volleyball; girls and boys cross-country achieved multiple top-five finishes and produced OSSA state qualifiers; several students earned all-district honors in football despite a 2-8 record; the EHS marching band and ensembles received superior ratings and multiple recognitions; and multiple students qualified for the OKMEA/All-State rounds in band, choir and jazz ensemble.
Mansfield listed participation numbers and awards: high school softball (25 players) and middle school (16), varsity softball regional runner-up, multiple district and regional honors; volleyball with 28 high school players and postseason all-conference selections; girls cross-country with 21 varsity athletes and two OSSA state qualifiers (Cassidy Levita and Esmeralda Solis); boys cross-country with one OSSA state qualifier (Carson Nault) and conference championships; EHS Big Blue Band qualifiers for second and final All-State rounds and marching contest superior ratings; and multiple All-State vocal qualifiers. Mansfield also previewed winter sports schedules including home swim meets and key basketball district games and the New Year—s Classic tournament Jan. 9—1.
Board members thanked Mansfield for the report; no action was taken. The presentation emphasized student participation, academic recognition (teams achieving high GPAs), and upcoming events for families and community members.
