Commission recommends approval of Airway Avenue storage facility water service; final approval to city council

The Kingman City Municipal Utility Commission voted to recommend approval of a water-service connection for a proposed storage facility at the corner of Pinal and Airway.
Staff said the site will connect directly to an existing 8-inch main using a T and valve and that no extension of the public water main is required. “This is a real simple request for water service…the recommendation from our office is to go ahead and approve it,” the staff presenter said.
A commissioner moved to approve the Airway Avenue Storage Water Service per staff recommendation and a second was recorded. The motion passed by voice vote with all commissioners responding “Aye” and no recorded opposition. The commission’s recommendation is advisory; the staff presenter noted that final approval of water-service requests rests with the Kingman City Council.
No environmental, financial or construction contingencies were read into the record other than normal plan review; staff reported they had reviewed the applicant’s plans prior to the meeting and recommended approval.
