Lake Cavanaugh resident outlines North Shore restoration and Red Rock wall proposal

Humble described the project as a civil-site contractor proposal that "includes all necessary manpower, supervision, and equipment to perform required tasks." She said the proposal assumes dry-weather conditions and that visible vegetation and brush within the clearing limits would be included in the work.
She described construction methods including grinding asphalt concrete in place for use as roadway access gravel, excavating to bedrock or the bottom of the wall, stockpiling materials in the roadway for backfill, and installing the wall back from the water’s edge based on dry-weather limits. "Bottom of wall will be approximately 2 feet below existing ground level," she said.
Humble said the proposal includes erosion control and that wall construction would be placed on a prepared base. Portions of the presentation were interrupted by audio problems and the commission reconvened other public-comment speakers while Humble’s feed was restored.
Commissioners did not take action on the project during the Feb. 3 meeting; the presentation was recorded as public comment for the board and county record.
