Ada County commissioners on Jan. 15 adopted an amendment to Title 10 of the Ada County Code to restore previously omitted language concerning the joint advisory committee that advises on fire impact fees.
County staff explained the change is a corrective, administrative update. The amendment restores the Title 10 section that establishes the joint advisory committee language and procedures for impact fees collected for fire districts — language that had been left out inadvertently during a prior code update.
The chair called for the public hearing, no members of the public spoke, and a commissioner moved to approve the amendments pursuant to Idaho Code sections cited in the staff memo. The motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. The code update will allow the county to continue collecting fire-impact fees and remitting those fees under the county’s interlocal arrangements with local fire districts.
Staff noted that impact fees are limited to capital costs set out in each fire district’s capital-improvement plan and cannot be used for staffing or ongoing operating costs; collected fees are remitted to the appropriate fire district under the county’s interlocal agreements.
