The handbook is a five-year document that will be presented again for formal approval in January; staff described the update as a formatting and system change rather than a substantive policy shift.
On ESSER/ARP funds, staff told the board those funds had been budgeted primarily to address learning loss (curriculum updates, summer school, professional development and mental-health/at-risk supports) and that the district expects to draw down and expend remaining ESSER allocations by the end of the month. The superintendent said staff would provide a written breakdown showing where ESSER funds were budgeted and spent over the last three years.
The board approved payment of bills and routine items by vote. The board also scheduled ongoing strategic planning and other regular topics for future meetings.
Next steps: staff will circulate a detailed breakdown of ESSER expenditures to the board and return the professional development handbook for formal approval in the January meeting cycle.
