IQ Optometrists opens flagship store in New Rochelle with ribbon-cutting

Officials, business leaders and family members gathered in New Rochelle to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon-cutting of IQ Optometrists’ flagship store during a ceremony hosted by the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce.
Catherine White, executive director of the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce, opened the program by introducing elected officials and chamber staff in attendance and welcoming the Zlatan family’s business to the city. "We have mayor Yadira Ramos Herbert," White said as she listed officials present for the event.
Mayor Yadira Ramos Herbert praised the company’s decision to open in New Rochelle, saying she admired the store’s “decor and the aesthetic” and the clinic’s technology. "So excited that it's here and looking forward to continued success for you and your family," the mayor said.
City Manager Will Melendez said he was "really impressed" after touring the store and offered city assistance if needed. Matt Stern, identified at the event as the city representative for the district, said he was both the council representative and a customer, adding he planned to "step up my game with your glasses."
Abraham Zlatan, one of the business owners, spoke for the Zlatan family, thanking his wife, son and staff and marking the occasion as both the flagship opening and the company’s 20th year anniversary in Westchester. "We opened up our first location in New York City in 1997," Zlatan said, and thanked the team for their "dedication, passion, [and] hard work." He also singled out his son, Zach Zlatan, as a valued addition to the practice.
Shari Asher, director of policy and programs for small businesses and chambers of commerce for Westchester County, brought greetings from County Executive Ken Jenkins and congratulated the family business for choosing Westchester. Westchester County Legislator Judah Holstein also offered congratulations and noted he was interested in the clinic’s dry-eye spa service mentioned during remarks.
Glenny Orohas of the New Rochelle Chamber presented a plaque of recognition to the Zlatan family. The ceremony concluded with a group ribbon cutting outside the store led by the Zlatan family and invited guests.
The event was presented as a ceremonial business opening; no governmental approvals or votes were announced at the ceremony.
