The action items were carried by voice/hand vote with motions and seconds recorded on the public record. County staff described the letters of credit as standard surety while the sheriff and other department heads said the other items support ongoing operations.
The court opened by approving claims for February, with Commissioner Hogg moving and Commissioner Leacock seconding. County staff presented two irrevocable standby letters of credit as surety for road and drainage improvements in Johnson Ranch South, Units 7 and 8; County Engineer/Staff recommended acceptance because the city of Bulverde has not yet accepted the roads. "My recommendation is to accept this letter of credit," staff said regarding Unit 7, and the court approved both instruments.
Sheriff's Office officials told the court the county will accept a Texas Comptroller award of $500,000 under the Rural Law Enforcement Salary Assistance Program and may apply it toward eligible personnel salaries.
