Collin County approves Highland Crossing compromise and accepts subdivision roads for county maintenance

Collin County Commissioners Court on Wednesday approved a compromise agreement with the developer and surety for the Highland Crossing subdivision and accepted the subdivision's roads into county maintenance.
Public works staff said the subdivision had been in a two-year maintenance period covered by a maintenance bond. The county inspected the roads, produced a punch list of items to be completed, and negotiated a resolution with the developer and the developer's surety under which the developer will pay the county for remaining items. Public works vetted the cost estimate, and staff recommended the compromise agreement.
County staff member Miss Homeveld described the maintenance-bond process and confirmed the compromise amount had been vetted through public works. The court then approved the compromise agreement by voice vote. Commissioners subsequently approved acceptance of Highland Crossing North roads into county maintenance, after which county crews or contractors will complete the remaining work.
Both motions passed 5-0.
