McKinney said he supported other recent reductions to commercial zoning in the county but singled out Highway 412 as an exception. “Nine miles of commercial on both sides of the highway,” McKinney said, adding that the decision will affect the county “for generations.” He said most growth is on the west side of Springdale and suggested concentrating development there.
His remarks were submitted during the public-comment period; no committee action or vote followed at the organizational meeting.
