Track representatives reported on renovation progress, event planning and marketing at the Racing Commission meeting on Feb. 20.
Representatives said a renovation has a penciled-in date in mid-April for a soft launch and that they expect finishing work to continue into the following months. The group said they plan a soft launch around April 16 and anticipate hosting the MSPT tournament and several concerts during the summer. They also said table games and baccarat product mix have affected on-site gaming patterns.
A commissioner requested more local advertising in neighborhood weeklies to reach residents; track staff said they have adjusted advertising strategy since the COVID era when attendance recovered strongly, and that the renovation offers an opportunity to rebrand and attract local audiences with new menu items, a large LED video wall and additional events.
Representatives also reported operational items such as front-door security work and staffing preparations for the racing season. No formal commission action was taken; the item was informational.
