The Maricopa County Planning and Zoning Commission approved two consent agenda items by unanimous roll call vote (5-0) during its Jan. 9 meeting.
SU240009 (PHO Ranchos 10): A special-use permit for an 80-foot-high monopole wireless communications facility on a 1-acre lease site in the Rural-43 zoning district north of the northwest corner of 300 and 7th Avenue in the Yuma Road area. Staff noted the array exceeds the diameter normally allowed (array greater than 16 feet where the ordinance allows a maximum of 8 feet). Staff reported no known opposition and recommended approval subject to conditions A through H.
SU240010 (Rough Diamond Storage): A special-use permit for RV storage on a 2.15-acre site west of the southwest corner of 100 and 17th Avenue and Harmony Lane in the Sun City area (Rural-43 zoning). Staff reported no known opposition and recommended approval subject to conditions A through H. Staff provided a handout revising Condition C to extend the permit validity period from 20 to 25 years, through Feb. 12, 2050; the commission accepted that change.
Commissioner Lindblom made the motion to approve the consent items as presented with the revised Condition C for SU240010; the motion was seconded and carried by roll call, 5-0.
