Williamson County benefits staff told the commissioners court that the county's employee wellness program for 2025 will require employees to either complete three wellness actions (survey, wellness exam or biometric screening) or earn 30,000 points in the wellness app by Dec. 1, 2025 to retain a discounted medical premium.
Shelley Lowry, director of benefits, and Angela Collins, the county wellness coordinator, briefed the court on program changes. They said the county's wellness vendor Virgin Pulse has rebranded to Personify and that employees should expect app references to the new name. Lowry said last year about 300 employees failed to meet the wellness requirements and lost the premium discount.
Staff described on‑site offerings planned for 2025, including breast exams (Bexa), DEXA body scans and Harbor Health wellness screenings; scheduling links will be released starting in April. The county also launched SmartDollar, a free financial wellness program for employees, and planned a movement challenge that begins later in the month.
Lowry reminded employees that wellness actions must show completed in the wellness app by Dec. 1, 2025, and there will be no extensions. Department leaders were invited to coordinate vendor visits and department‑specific wellness activities.
