The Grand Island town board committee approved three sets of meeting minutes by voice vote at the start of its meeting and agreed not to meet in February unless pressing business arises.
A committee member moved to approve "all 3" minutes, another member seconded the motion, and multiple members voiced "aye," after which the chair said the minutes were approved. The committee did not record any roll-call names beyond those heard during the voice vote and characterized the approval as completed without objection.
Committee members discussed administrative follow-up items. The chair said she had spoken with Dan and would follow up on the status of resolutions numbered 407144 and 407145, which have been through the planning board and were sent to the town board; staff will report back after checking workshop outcomes. "They then went to Peter, Godfrey and I believe the town board. Dan is going to follow-up on the workshop this morning and see kind of where they are so we know where they are in the process," the chair said.
The committee also agreed to move files into a shared Dropbox account so all members have access. "Rhonda and I will make some time in the next week or 2, to figure out how I can get all of these files off of my computer and into a Dropbox account so everybody has access to them," the chair said.
On zoning and code review, committee members said the town planner will sequence code revisions by topic or zone and that the committee will be informed as items are ready for review. One member asked how the committee can participate; another said summaries will be circulated and chairs will be notified as relevant items are reached. Public meetings are not required for the committee's work, the group noted; final changes are expected to move from the committee to the town board and then to the planning board.
The committee decided not to plan a meeting for February unless an urgent matter arises, and said members can be contacted by email if a meeting is needed. The chair also said she will try to keep the same Zoom meeting information for the year to avoid confusion.
No ordinances, motions beyond the minutes approval, or formal committee referrals were made at this meeting; committee members set follow-up tasks for staff on the resolutions, Dropbox sharing and zoning-plan notifications.
