Stu Wexler, presenting the events and sales update, said he attended the American Bus Association (ABA) trade show in Philadelphia and completed about 34 appointment meetings; several tour operators expressed interest in bringing overnight itineraries that include Carson City as a gateway to regional parks such as Yosemite.
Wexler said a contact who attends successor shows in Reno is planning a "Road to Reno" partnership and that two senior softball tournaments are confirmed for the year with a potential increase to four regional tournaments once Centennial fields are finished in 2026. He reported the Comstock Shootout is scheduled for April 26–27, the Carson Cruisers car show will move to June 28, Arena Wars returns July 12 at the MAC Center, and organizers are planning to expand Kaboom Con from a one‑day to a three‑day event with national vendors.
Wexler said organizers of the Stetina Pay Dirt race expect 500–600 registered riders and he is pursuing junior golf, BMX and pickleball events as new amateur and youth sports business for the city. He noted partnership opportunities with Tahoe-area venues if event planners require larger arenas.
No board action was taken; the update was informational.
