Carbon County shelter board elects officers, reviews operations and names half-price adoption months

The Carbon County Animal Shelter Advisory Commission on Feb. 4, 2025, elected its 2025 officers, heard a director's report on shelter operations and finances, and reviewed facility upgrades and training plans, including a half-price adoption program for February and November.

The reorganization votes established a temporary chair and then formal officers for the year. Commissioners also approved minutes from the December 2024 meeting. Mr. Thomas Connors, the shelter director, presented December and January operational and financial summaries showing continued community donations, food and supply contributions, and ongoing maintenance needs.

The officer elections and other formal actions were brief and unanimous. County leadership praised the shelter's fundraising and volunteer work: a County Commissioner said the shelter raised "over $48,000" last year and described that fundraising as a major contribution to animal care in Carbon County.
