Geary County commissioners approve nominations to Free Fair and 4‑H senior center boards

Geary County commissioners approved nominations to two county advisory boards after returning from an executive session, county meeting records show.

Tyler Langberg, an Extension staff member, told commissioners he had nominations for two boards that Extension helps oversee and put the names forward for a formal vote. "I've got some nominations for 2 boards that, we have extension help oversee, and the nominations are made, and approved on your behalf," Langberg said.

The commission approved two nominees for the Geary County Free Fair Board: Alex Moon and Brandon Dibben. Langberg said there were two openings on the Free Fair Board this year and that the nominees had been selected by the group responsible for filling those seats. A separate nomination was made for the 4‑H senior center advisory board’s at‑large seat; Deborah ("Debbie") Bowler was nominated and accepted that nomination.

Langberg told commissioners that "all the nominees were approved by their peers and are residents of the county." Commissioners moved and seconded the appointments and the body voiced approval for each nomination.

The meeting record notes other personnel changes mentioned in the same exchange: Megan Holmes, now Erickson, is affiliated with Kaw Valley Engineering, and Harold Erickson was noted as stepping down from the senior board after serving his term. Commissioners did not make any other formal actions on the items discussed.
